The team at Tom Pigeon love playful geometric design and this project was an exciting opportunity not only to explore this aspect of their practice but also to investigate the historic colour palettes and classic patterns from the V&A collections. Taking inspiration from domestic Victorian hallways, they started to play with modern interpretations of traditional square and border tiles.
ARRANGE is a white bodied, ceramic wall tile collection of five geometric designs available in seven colours which can be used alongside coloured square and rectangular tiles. The colours have a subtle gloss finish to contrast with the matt of the cool grey. The designs are bold yet simple and can be used in infinite combinations to create a huge array of contemporary or more traditional patterns.
Each individual tile is treated as a piece of art with every tile being carefully selected, before being hand decorated by highly experienced artisans using traditional lithographic prints. The craft process of traditional lithography offers a depth, precision and durability of colour unattainable by other decorative processes. Bespoke production runs of coordinating glazed tiles complete the range.
