Hodge House is an iconic Grade II listed, eight-storey building in Cardiff that has been restored and transformed into a modern workspace. Originally constructed in 1915, the building has been stripped back to reveal original features such as cast-iron decorative columns and exposed brick and plasterwork. Authentic period features, including the vaulted ballroom and ornate heritage stair balustrading, have been meticulously restored to reveal the character of the building.
Adding a splash of colour to their design, Paramount Interiors chose a 100x300mm wall tile for use throughout the atrium and building walkways in a striking capri blue. Created using our Design Lab, 160m2 were produced for this project, matched to the designer’s colour choice of RAL 5019.
The building offers a host of modern amenities designed to appeal to future occupiers. A focus on health, wellbeing and sustainable travel is supported by cycle storage and lockers, showers and changing rooms. Relaxation and socialising has been taken care of thanks to the multi-purpose studio and south-facing roof terrace.
Hodge House is the first building in Wales to achieve Wired Certified Gold and was awarded Workplace Design of the Year at the Wales Property Awards 2020.
